Observe


One of the 11 learning standards that we focus on learning in the art room is observing.  Careful observation of the world around us helps students to notice subtleties in art, but also in their world - the books they read, the stories they write, the experiments they conduct, the media they interpret - the list goes on!  

After students filled out their midterm assessment rating their performance on each of the 11 learning targets and providing evidence for those ratings, students were asked to practice their observation skills by either drawing their hand or shoe, observing small details.  Here's some of the drawings from Monday's class:
