8th Grade Art Workshop

Image
Each year I have the opportunity to send 10 8th grade students to an art workshop at Leyden High School to introduce them to the art department.  This year I opened the opportunity to all 8th grade students interested and accepted the first 10 enthusiastic students to turn in their permission slips.  We had a great group!  Students had to show responsibility to get to and from East Leyden to attend the two hour workshop from 4 - 6pm where they made art, toured the department and had pizza. Thanks to Ms. Reed, Mr. Krypel & the high school student assistants for hosting a fun evening! Here's some photos from the event:

Activity Day Part Two

Image
The last day before break, Hester students get the opportunity to sign up for special activities hosted by their teachers for the last two hours of the day.  The day was filled with cookie baking, movie watching, card making, guacamole, basketball, handball, board games, sugar scrub making, spa room, computer games, gaming truck, needle felting and a whole lot more!  Special thanks to Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Ignacio for organizing the day! Here's the rest of the pictures captured by the amazing duo, Mrs. Patti Ortiz and Ms. Carmen Romero - thanks!
